Grand Priory of Australia National Chapter and Investiture
In accordance with Article 20.4 of the National Constitution of the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem, Notice has been given that a National Chapter will be held on Saturday,17 April, 2010 at 9:30am at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel, Sydney.
A Vigil Service for Postulants will take place at St. Stephen's Church, Sydney, on Friday evening 16 April 2010 at 5:45pm.
An Investiture Service will take place at St. James' Church, Sydney, on Saturday Evening 17 April 2010 at 6:00pm
in the presence of
His Excellency Don Carlos Gereda de Borbon,
Marquis de Almazan, Grand Master of the Order.
The National Chapter will conclude with High Mass celebrated by His Eminence George Cardinal Pell AC EGChLJ GCMLJ
at St. Mary's Cathedral, Sydney, on Sunday 18 April 2010

The Grand Master's First Anniversary Message
Appointment of new Grand Secretary General
As a result of the reunification of our Order, the Order today is more diverse and substantially larger, both in the number of jurisdictions and membership, than only a few years ago. As a result, the daily administration of the Order is significantly greater, and it will continue to increase as the Order grows.
In response to the situation, after considerable thought and discussion, the Grand Magistral Council at its meeting on June 27, 2009, approved the appointment of a Grand Secretary-General of the Order, and subsequently, by unanimous vote, selected Dame Marny A. Gilluly, DCLJ, DMLJ, DC3rd cl/OLJ, for the appointment. Dame Marney is both experienced and very capable, as well as known and respected throughout the Order.
The Grand Secretary-General will report to and operate under the oversight of the Grand Chancellor.
