HOSPITALLER PROJECTS

The main focus of the charitable activity of the Tasmanian Commandery is palliative care. Over many years the Order has assisted two palliative care facilities, the J W Whittle Ward of the Royal Hobart Hospital and the Gibson Unit, St John's Hospital Campus, Calvary Health Care, Hobart. Through its tax deductible status the Order is privileged to be able to provide equipment and other items, which assist patients and their families in one way or another. These have included in recent times:- wheelchairs,  an electric high/low bed,  people lifters, an ice making machine, books, magazines, clocks, outdoor chairs and table, comfortable lounge chairs, day bed cushions and music compact discs.
